Château de Meursault 2020 – Beaune-Toussaints Premier Cru

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is fragrant and complex. It expresses notes of fresh flowers (rosehip, cornflower, rose, lily), herbs (wild mint, cut rosemary, a fine smokiness of oregano), sweet spices (licorice, cumin, a touch of fennel seeds, white pepper, vanilla), as well as toasted with a very light note of caramel and toasted hazelnut. Fruitiness and juiciness, freshness and aromatics: the nose expresses notes of blueberry, wild blackberry, crunchy strawberry, red cherry and red currant with a hint of crushed blackcurrant and blackcurrant leaf. On the palate, the wine offers roundness and juiciness with a certain richness and a fine smokiness in the background. The attack is ample, tasty, fruity and fleshy. It offers notes of ripe red and black fruits (red cherry, morello cherry, strawberry, raspberry, crushed blueberry and blackberry in the background), which evolve into notes of vanilla, white pepper, cumin, chocolate mint, thyme. and oregano in the middle and finish. The tannins are well structured and fine, enveloped by a fruitiness and a salivating acidity. The finish is persistent, with notes of dried flowers (cornflower, violet, rose) and a fine spiciness and smokiness. A complex and refined wine.
