Château de Meursault, Clos de La Platière 2020 – Pommard

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers juiciness, density and a fleshy fruitiness. It expresses notes of morello cherry, wild black plum, crushed wild strawberry, fresh and roasted red cherry, red currant jelly and a hint of crushed blackcurrant. There are also notes of chocolate prunes and mint chocolate (in the background), vanilla, cinnamon, licorice, cloves, toasted oak, smoke and dried flowers (field flowers, cornflower). On the palate, the wine offers a certain richness and fleshy fruity notes (crushed wild strawberries, very ripe red cherries, morello cherries, a touch of wild plums and red currants), spices (vanilla, cinnamon, black pepper, ground cloves), torrefaction (ground coffee, toasted oak) and fresh flowers (cornflower, wildflowers), combined with a touch of menthol and licorice in the background. The tannins are a bit grainy and grippy, but softened by a salivating acidity and fruitiness. Good length with spicy and smoky notes.
