Château de Laubade – 1989 Brut de fût – Bas-Armagnac

(Bottled in November 2019) The nose is racy and offers power as well as a very fine grain. It reveals notes of dried mandarin, kumquat and small notes of quince associated with fine touches of pepper, dried flowers / violet as well as slight hints of nutmeg and an imperceptible hint of coconut. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a juicy / acidulous frame, a fine straightness, precision, unctuosity, gourmandize as well as a small richness. On the palate, this Armagnac expresses notes of crushed apple, crushed brugnon and small notes of quince associated with fine touches of crushed pear, Mirabelle plum, slight hints of caramelization, vanilla, chocolate as well as discreet hints of cigar and nutmeg / pepper. Good persistence. A very discreet toasted hint / toasted almond hint on the persistence.
