Château Croix de Rambeau 2020 – Lussac Saint-Emilion

The wine has a deep ruby color. The nose offers depth and a beautiful ripeness of fruit, accompanied by sweet chocolate notes. It notably expresses aromas of wild blackberry, fresh and roasted morello cherry, red cherry, blueberry, black plum, fresh blackcurrant, raspberry coulis and crème de cassis. There are also delicate herbaceous, spicy and toasted touches: fresh peppermint, cut rosemary, fresh grass (integrated and pleasant to the nose), blackcurrant bud, liquorice, coffee, toast as well as the sweetness of cherry in chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla (in the background) and bitter cocoa. On the palate, the wine expresses juiciness and roundness on the attack, as well as a slightly astringent and grippy young tannins (which have a fine and enveloped texture). The flavors are expressive and very fruity: there are notes of fresh cassis, blackberry, black plum, raspberry, wild strawberry, morello cherry and tart red cherry, accompanied by herbaceous and spicy notes of peppermint, chopped rosemary, fresh thyme, liquorice stick, white pepper, cumin, as well as ground coffee, cocoa powder and bitter chocolate. The finish is long, precise and a bit tight due to the strong tannic structure of the wine, with pleasant chocolate notes on the finish. Nice acidity with firm tannins gives the wine a good structure as well as good aging potential. Keep for several years.
