Château de la Grenière, Cuvée de La Chartreuse 2020 – Lussac Saint-Emilion

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers aromatic concentration and lots of ripe fruit. It expresses notes of morello cherry, crushed strawberry, red cherry, raspberry coulis, fresh blueberry, wild blackberry, red plum and cherry juice. There is also a pleasant herbaceous and spicy aromas: the notes of crushed peppermint, cut rosemary, fresh cut thyme, fresh licorice stick, white pepper, cumin and a slight touch of bitter chocolate, dried mint and ground coffee. On the palate, the wine is tight – on the attack, we find a firm tannic structure and the tannins present, grippy, a bit dry. The flavors are juicy and fruity: there are notes of red cherry, morello cherry, fresh black currant, red currant, strawberry and raspberry, as well as a herbaceous side with notes of peppermint and fresh rosemary. The finish is persistent and expresses more spicy and floral notes (licorice, cumin, violet, and a slight note of peony). Nice mouthwatering acidity that balances the dryness of the tannins.
