Camille Giroud, Corton Les Renardes Grand Cru 2021 – Corton Grand Cru

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers a lot of charm, fresh fruit, slightly sweet floral notes, as well as a fine spiciness. We find in particular the aromas of wild strawberry, juicy morello cherry, redcurrant jelly, crushed wild blueberry, juicy raspberry, associated with notes of wild mint, rosemary, cut thyme, flowers (violet, peony, rose, cornflower), with a fine touch of chocolate (chocolate with mint), sweet spices (grated nutmeg, cloves, fresh licorice, bourbon vanilla), as well as a fine touch of torrefaction (toasted hazelnut, caramel) and fresh tobacco. The palate is expressive and tasty. It offers spicy and roasted notes on the attack (clove, nutmeg, licorice, cumin, a hint of vanilla), smoke, a mineral and herbaceous touch (crushed wild mint, thyme, fresh rosemary), which then combine with notes of violet, rose, lily and peony. Everything is harmoniously enveloped in a concentrated, yet refined, fruity substance: the flavors of fresh wood, morello cherry, raspberry, red currant, red cherry and blueberry. Beautiful crunchy but supple acidity, freshness and length on the finish. The tannins are melted and supple, but enveloping. A harmonious and refined wine.
