The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers complexity, concentration and depth. It expresses notes of ripe black and red fruits (cherry, black plum, blackberry, red cherry, raspberry coulis, fresh blueberry and blueberry jam), herbs (fresh mint, fresh sage), roasting (toast, coffee) and sweet spices (liquorice, cumin, clove) with a fine sweet touch of crème de cassis and peony in the background. On the palate, the wine is fleshy and rich. It expresses the flavors of slightly overripe and roasted black fruits (morello cherry, roasted red cherry, crushed strawberry, black plum, prunes, prunes in Armagnac), with notes of peppermint, rosemary, dried thyme, sweet spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, dried vanilla pod). The finish is fleshy, generous and warming, on notes of prunes in alcohol and cocoa powder, with a certain freshness and a touch of bitter almond. The tannins are soft, with a fine texture. Good warm persistence, with a supple but quite fresh acidity and a pleasant bitterness.
