VGS Château Potelle – Chardonnay 2016 – Mount Veeder, Napa Valley

The nose is aromatic, fruity, fresh and offers elegance. It reveals notes of pear, apple, quince and small notes of mirabelle plum associated with touches of juicy citrus, juicy exotic fruits, vanilla, almond as well as a very discreet touch of almost saline minerality. The palate is fruity, juicy, beautifully fresh, well-balanced, gourmand, very slightly tight and offers suavity, a small density, straightness richness (but full of balance), a slight precision, complexity, a slight acid frame, a racy minerality, a certain purity, finesse as well as a good and slightly fleshy matter. On the palate this wine expresses notes of quince, mirabelle plum, small yellow fruits and touches of fresh / fleshy apple associated with touches of juicy / fresh citrus, slight hints of beeswax, almond/oak, slight/discreet hints of butter as well as an imperceptible touch of flowers and vanilla. The finish and the persistence are slightly powerful. Very beautiful persistence. There are a hint of almond, a toasted hint and a very discreet hint of physalis on the aftertaste. The wine needs to be put in carafe. A beautiful wine!
