Terre di Melazzano – Elikia 2011 – Chianti Classico Riserva

The nose is fresh, fruity and offers a slight gourmandise as well as elegance. It reveals notes of crushed raspberry and crushed wild strawberry combined with small notes of toasted oak, vanilla, caramelization as well as touches of blackberry, chocolate and a subtle hint of olive / garrigue (in the background). The palate is fruity, well-balanced, aerial, sleek and offers a slight mineral frame, a slight suavity, tension as well as a slight acidity (in the background) and a good freshness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of crushed raspberry, crushed ripe redcurrant, fleshy cassis and small notes of blackberry associated with touches of spices, garrigue / grove as well as subtle hints of racy / saline minerality and sweet spices / toasted aok. Tannins are structuring and slightly dry. Good length. Gourmandise on the finish.
