Soto del Vicario – Men de Mencia 2012 – D.O. Bierzo

The nose is fruity, relatively powerful and fine. It reveals notes of crushed boysenberry and fine notes of plum associated with slight notes of red fruits (raspberry …) as well as a touch of minerality, spice and fine notes of cinnamon. The palate is fruity, relatively gourmande and offers finesse, suavity, fluidity as well as a nice, silky and harmonious matter. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry, juicy Gariguette strawberry and fine notes of cassis combined with spicy touches as well as a hint of cigar box and mocha / liquorice on the finish / persistence. Tannins are medium grains and a bit dry.
