Roger & Didier Raimbault, Vieilles Vignes 2020 – Sancerre

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose offers concentration, while remaining subtle, complex and precise. It expresses notes of fresh wild strawberry, strawberry jam, red cherry, raspberry coulis, elderberry and red currant, associated with minty freshness and delicate spicy notes (licorice, nutmeg),as well as just a hint of rosemary and fresh flowers (violet, rose petals). The palate is silky and enveloping, with melted tannins, ripe fruity flavors, slightly sweet and balanced by a beautiful acidity. We find notes of juicy morello cherry, wild strawberry, roasted red cherry, ripe raspberry, as well as a touch of wild blackberry, associated with a hint of dark chocolate, licorice, nutmeg and flowers (violet, peony). Good persistence in the mouth. A gourmet, fleshy, but fresh and harmonious wine
