Roger & Didier Raimbault 2020 – Sancerre

Roger & Didier Raimbault 2020 – Sancerre

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is fragrant and tasty. It expresses notes of ripe fruit with a touch of roasted fruit: roasted red cherry, strawberry, roasted raspberry, a hint of crushed blackcurrant and blueberry. We also find slight notes of roasted meat, smoke, white pepper, as well as dried rose, violet and hints of thyme, which appear on the second nose. The palate is enveloping, juicy and fruity. The attack is open and offers a certain concentration, even a slight sweetness. We find the flavors of wild strawberry, ripe morello cherry, roasted morello cherry, crushed fresh raspberry, a touch of blackcurrant, as well as a hint of smoke, white pepper, flowers (dried rose, violet) and aromatic herbs (thyme, dried mint in the background). The finish is persistent and chiseled, with notes of red fruits and a slight bitterness. Good concentration, precision, a certain roundness in the mouth and nice acidity. The tannins are structured and enveloped.
