Nicolas Paget, Les Quinquenays 2020 – Chinon

Nicolas Paget, Les Quinquenays 2020 – Chinon

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers concentration, subtlety and freshness. It expresses notes of wild strawberry, red cherry jam, fresh morello cherry, raspberry coulis, redcurrant jelly, red plum in the background, blueberry and blackcurrant, combined with fresh notes of wild mint, blackcurrant leaf, cut rosemary, as well as a touch of licorice, cumin and an elegant floral bouquet (violet, rose petals, iris). The palate is precise and chiselled, with a firm tannic structure, see drying on the finish, balanced by salivating acidity and juicy fruits. It expresses notes of tangy fruits (blackcurrant, raspberry, red cherry), associated with notes of wild strawberry, morello cherry, sweet spices (licorice, cumin, nutmeg), dried mint, as well as a floral touch (violet, peony) and chocolate in the background. Good persistence, with lively acidity and good bitterness.
