Audebert et Fils, Les Perruches 2020 – Chinon

The wine has a deep ruby color. The nose offers concentration, ripe fruit and a fine spicy side. It expresses notes of roasted red cherry, juicy morello cherry, strawberry, raspberry coulis, blueberry, red currant jelly and crushed blackcurrant, combined with notes of licorice, nutmeg, clove and a fine toasted touch in the background, as well as notes of dried mint, violet, peony, dried rose and wild flowers. The palate expresses a delicate smokiness at the beginning. Then, we find notes of strawberry, raspberry coulis, crushed blackcurrant, morello cherry, roasted red cherry, violet, peony, licorice, cumin, dried mint and lilac, with a fine toasted touch in the background. The finish expresses firm tannins, a little drying, but enveloped in a ripe and generous fruity notes, as well as in a chocolate note, which brings sweetness. Beautiful salivating acidity, which balances the firmness of the wine on the finish. A well-constructed, straight, powerful and fleshy wine.
