Manuel Olivier 2020 – Nuits-Saint-Georges

Manuel Olivier 2020 – Nuits-Saint-Georges

The wine offers a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is concentrated and textured and offers depth and juiciness. It expresses a rich and ripe fruity bouquet: we find notes of wild strawberry, wild blackberry, morello cherry, red cherry jam, crushed blueberry as well as a hint of black plum, associated with notes of sweet spices (licorice, chanterelle, nutmeg), cocoa, mild coffee, toasted, flowers (rose, violet, lily, lilac) and herbs (cut wild mint, thyme, bay leaf). On the palate, the wine is enveloping and structured at the same time. The attack is round, juicy with fresh fruit (crushed raspberry, wild strawberry, red cherry, a hint of red plum, blueberry and wild blackberry), in the mid-palate we find sweet spices (licorice, cumin, a touch of ground pepper, nutmeg and cinnamon), flowers (rose, violet, lily) and herbs (wild mint and a very delicate hint of tomato leaf which brings a refreshing touch and adds to the complexity some wine). The tannins are a bit grippy, but fine and controlled. Good length with notes of toast and roasted spices, with a salivating acidity. A structured, complex wine with good aging potential.
