La Fortezza – 2012 Riserva – Aglianico del Taburno DOCG

The nose is fruity and offers intensity as well as a certain power. It reveals notes of cassis, bright blackberry, small notes of plum associated with a touch of small blue fruits, tobacco, black tea, toasted hazelnut, discreet hints of cocoa and an imperceptible saline/iodine hint. The palate is suave, gourmand, precise and offers juiciness, generosity as well as a good definition and a fine acidulous frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of bright violet plum, bright cassis, small notes of crushed redcurrant associated with a touch of bright blueberry, mild tobacco, black tea, fresh nutmeg as well as fine hints of hazelnut, a very discreet hint of sense of the place (local biotope), chocolate and an imperceptible hint of orange. Tannins are precise and structuring. A discreet hint of cocoa on the persistence.
