FARET 2022 – Côtes de Bordeaux

FARET 2022 – Côtes de Bordeaux

The nose is very ripe, even jammy. It expresses notes of ripe black plum (even prunes), morello cherry jam, crushed strawberry, blackberry, crème de cassis, raspberry coulis and fresh blackcurrant, as well as pronounced aromas of dark chocolate, prunes and chocolate and mint chocolate (which brings a touch of freshness to the wine). There are also notes of sweet spices (cinnamon, vanilla, licorice, clove) and very delicate notes of sugared violet and dried rose. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and offers generosity, well-built tannins, quite powerful, but very fine and melted, as well as freshness. It expresses the flavors of fresh blackcurrant (and more slightly – blackcurrant bud), morello cherry, blackberry, morello cherry jam, crème de cassis, macerated cherry and chocolate mint, complemented by the spicy flavors of cloves, licorice, vanilla and a touch of roasted hazelnut and coconut in the background. The finish is persistent, juicy, rich, with jammy notes of blackcurrant and morello cherry, as well as bitter cocoa. A full-bodied, ample, very rich wine, with a firm but velvety structure and supple acidity. Lots of concentration and good depth which will allow it to develop, despite a slight overripiness.
