Domaine Francise & Maxime Lemain-Pouillot 2018 – Sancerre

The nose is fruity, racy and offers a fine power/concentration as well as a very discreetly tight grain and a small sensation of tension. It reveals notes of crushed raspberry, rose, small nose of ripe plum associated with touches of wild strawberry, blackberry as well as hints of pencil lead, Sichuan pepper (in the background), toasted, cardamom, tonka bean and sweet spices. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a juicy/finely acidulous frame, gourmandize as well as elegance, complexity, tension as well as a fine grain and a good definition. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/bright cherry, pulpy/juicy violet plum, small notes of wild strawberry associated with touches of cherry core, small blue fruits, cornflower as well as hints of caramelization, sugared mild tobacco, hazelnut, vanilla and very discreet hints of pencil lead (in the background). Tannins are precise, delicate and elegant. Good length. A beautiful persistence with a hint of dark chocolate.
