De Castelfort – VSOP – Bas-Armagnac

De Castelfort – VSOP – Bas-Armagnac

The nose is aromatic, a bit powerful and offers intensity. It reveals notes of dry yellow grapes and small notes of dried citrus (orange, grapefruit), flowers, dried papaya associated with a subtle hint of dried zest, dried green apple and discreet hints of cedar and at a subtle hint of rancio (in the background). The palate is fruity, well balanced, well-defined, fat, slightly gourmande and offers a fine mineral frame, a fine acidity, a beautiful suavity, finesse, a fine fleshiness as well as a small straightness. In the mouth this Armagnac expresses notes of Zante currant, crystallized peach, crystallized clementine and small notes of pâtisseries associated with a hint of lemon zest / dried lemon as well as a very discreet hint of almond, spices and caramelization on the finish.
