(41%) The nose is elegant, powerful (but in control), harmonious and offers deepness, a fine intensity as well as a discreet incisive side. It reveals notes of cider, cooked quince and small notes of cooked apple associated with fine touches of lemon blossoms as well as slight hints of Tarte Tatin, spices and a very discreet hint of fresh tobacco. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, roundness, suavity, a beautiful definition, a fine “spherical” side as well as a beautiful balance. On the palate, this Calvados expresses notes of cooked quince, yellow apple cooked in butter and small notes of cider associated with small touches of cooked pear, fine hints of Zante currant, pâtisseries as well as a very discreet hint of dried lemon zest and rancio. Beautiful suave / gourmande persistence with discreet hints of brioche and an imperceptible hint of chocolate.
