Château de Portets Rouge 2019 – Graves

The nose is fruity, racy and offers a certain gourmandise as well as a fine grain. There are notes of bright blackcurrant, violet and more slightly black berry fruits combined with a touch of blueberry, strawberry, fine points of racy minerality, iodine as well as discreet saline and an imperceptible varietal touch. The palate is fruity, balanced, racy and offers juiciness, minerality, gourmandise, a nice pulpy/flavoured fruit as well as a good work on the bitter taste. On the palate this wine expresses notes of crushed blackcurrant, pulpy cherry and more slightly blueberry combined with hints of blue berries, cardamom, liquorice and a fine touch of chocolate (in the background). The tannins are well-managed and mellow. Good length.
