Château de Meursault, Les Maréchaudes 2020 – Aloxe-Corton Premier Cru

Château de Meursault, Les Maréchaudes 2020 – Aloxe-Corton Premier Cru

The wine has a medium deep ruby color. The nose is gourmand, fragrant, ripe and slightly sweet. It expresses notes of wild strawberry, red cherry, crunchy wild blackberry, raspberry, redcurrant jelly, black plum (in the background) and fresh red currants. We also find a fairly pronounced spiciness (black pepper, ground cumin, grated nutmeg, a touch of vanilla and licorice), associated with herbaceous notes (dried mint, cut wild mint, roasted thyme, fresh bay leaf, tobacco) and floral (fresh field flowers, cornflower, lily, lilac). On the palate, the wine is round, gourmand, with a certain power and an attack on ripe fruit, which then develops towards roasted, slightly meaty and spicy notes. We find flavors of red cherry, morello cherry, wild blackberry, fresh wood, blueberry, wild black plum, ground cumin, clove, vanilla, as well as herbaceous and floral notes of dried mint , thyme, oregano, lily and cornflower. The finish is long, slightly smoky and toasty, with fine notes of coffee and dark chocolate. The tannins have a fine grain and a firm structure. The salivating acidity brings freshness and liveliness.
