Château d’Armailhac 2022 – Pauillac Grand Cru Classé

The nose is fresh, racy with a nice mineral side. It’s elegant with a certain fresh tension. We have notes of pulpy blackberry, violet, cornflower and small notes of ripe/fresh wild cherries associated with touches of sweet blond tobacco, almost minty spices, sweet spices, smoke and a hint of hazelnut. toasted. The palate is nicely fresh, mineral, tense, precise, frank and offers density and concentration. There is juiciness and suppleness which gives a certain generosity and fullness as well as deliciousness. Lovely airy character in its richness and richness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, fleshy purple plum and more lightly crushed raspberries associated with touches of cocoa (or even chocolate), sweet blond tobacco as well as hints of toasted hazelnuts, a subtle smoky note and a discreet hint of licorice stick. It is a wine with a lovely gourmandise. The tannins are silky and relatively polished. There is a little chewiness on the finish/persistence.
