Château Balac – Cuvée Sans Sulfites 2018 – Haut-Médoc

The nose is slightly tight and offers a fine intensity, a fine concentration and a fine freshness. It reveals notes of wild cassis, spicesand small notes of white pepper associated with touches of fresh raspberry, lily, bright violet plum as well as fine hints of liquorice and a very discreet hint of tonka bean. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a juicy/acidulous frame, a good definition, a fine tension, minerality and a fine freshness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of bright blackberry, fresh/juicy raspberry and small notes of crushed redcurrant associated with touches of juicy/fresh violet plum as well as fine hints of liquorice stick, nutmeg, camphor, raspberry leaf as well as discreet hints of spices, a subtle hint of pepper and tobacco. Good length. Tannins are well-built.
