Champagne Gabriel-Pagin Fils – Cuvée Roger Gabriel 2008 – Blanc de Blancs, 1er Cru

Champagne Gabriel-Pagin Fils – Cuvée Roger Gabriel 2008 – Blanc de Blancs, 1er Cru

The nose is fresh, elegant, racy, aromatic and offers a small complexity. It reveals notes of chestnut honey, Mirabelle plum, yellow small fruits and small notes of orange peel associated with fine touches of flowers (honeysuckle, elderberry), citrus as well as discreet hints of brioche and very discreet hints of nutmeg/spices. The palate is fruity, juicy, well-balanced and offers a good definition, a fine juicy/acidulous frame, suavity as well as gourmandize. The effervescence is very fine and elegant. On the palate this Champagne expresses notes of quince, bee wax and small notes of small yellow fruits associated with touches of toasted, almond, nutmeg as well as very discreet hints of citrus (and spices). The finish is very finely firm/tight. Good length. A beautiful champagne!
