Champagne Dérot-Delugny, 2012

Champagne Dérot-Delugny, 2012

The Champagne has a beautiful clear and shiny color which tends towards straw yellow with golden reflections. The bubbles are dynamic and refined. The nose is discreet, light with beautiful notes of brioche and yeast. We also perceive fresh almond and lightly roasted almond as well as fine hints of citrus zest. With air, the whole is fresh and we perceive touches of apple as well as raspberry. The tasting is fresh, straight and tangy. There are notes of apple, pear as well as white raspberry. The almond appears in the mid-palate with a discreet hint of very pleasant bitterness. The palate has a beautiful minerality, a nice freshness. The finish has texture with covering bubbles and a touch of astringency which persists on a velvety finish. It is a well-crafted champagne with a straightness and a foundation.
