The competition was won by Jonathan Bauer-Monneret, head sommelier of the Spring (restaurant, Paris) On Monday, 27 October 2014 Jonathan Bauer-Monneret became the 28th Best Sommelier of France (28th Edition). The finals took place in Beaune with fellow competitors Michael Grou (Four Seasons George V in Paris), Jean-Baptiste Klein (Clos des Sens in Annecy-le-Vieux) and Florent Martin (Four Seasons George V in Paris). In front of a 500+ audience, the four finalists gave a very rich impression of their profession. They were given thirty minutes to compete during various workshops (tasting, wedding preparation, managaging three customers). The Jury was composed of three, including Best Sommelier of the World Serge Dubs, Philippe Faure-Brac and Olivier Poussier.
When the results were announced, Jonathan Bauer-Monneret, who was attending his first final, showed great joy. Having already won the title of Best Young Sommelier of France – Duval Leroy Trophy in 2009, his talent has now brought him another step higher.
