René Bourgeon Clos de la Brûlée, Givry 2021

René Bourgeon Clos de la Brûlée, Givry 2021

The wine has a pale lemon-yellow color. The nose is straight, tangy and lemony. It expresses notes of fresh lemon, lime, citrus zest, crunchy stone fruits (apricot, white peach), green apple, as well as fresh herbs (fresh thyme, cut grass), white flowers (honeysuckle, acacia), a fine note of candied lemon peel, as well as light woody touches (toasted hazelnut, vanilla). On the palate, the wine offers liveliness, salivating acidity, energy, freshness and a hint of salinity on the finish. It also expresses chiseled notes of citrus fruits (lime, lemon, grapefruit), juicy stone fruits (peach, apricot), acacia as well as lactic and fine woody notes on the finish (a touch of fresh butter, brioche and toast). Nice complexity and balance, the finish is long and tangy, with some roundness, good bitterness and a subtle touch of chestnut honey.
