Prototype is a wine with a fresh overall fruit character, but with tarter finish. Even the color is surprisingly light and brilliant. The aromas combine a mix of juicy and fresh, little, concentrated berries. On the palate, it’s tasteful, soft and light. I’d say it’s closer to a Grenache than a zinfandel in style. There’s a slight bitterness on the finale that is well placed.
