Pétrus 2020 – Pomerol

Pétrus 2020 – Pomerol

Nice elegant nose, supple with a certain power in delicacy. There is a fine concentration, flesh and solar notes. It’s discreetly powdered. We perceive notes of bright cassis and small notes of almost roasted and fresh red berries associated with touches of violet, fresh berries as well as hints of cornflower and other fresh flowers. There are hints of cubeb pepper, fresh spices and a discreet hint of fresh incense and a note of graphite. Gradually fresh tobacco appears as well as cocoa. The nose opens with complexity. There is a superb freshness that accompanies a melodious profil. The mouth is fresh, elegant, delicate all in roundness with a certain richness in freshness and creaminess. There is airiness that accompanies complexity and a discreet tightness. It’s a wine with accuracy, tension where nothing sticks out and everything is haute couture. There are notes of creamy blackberry, bright cassis and small notes of mocha and cardamom. Toasted almond blends with a subtle hint of cornflower and fresh bright blue berries as well as a delicate hint of mocha and a subtle note of toasted hazelnuts. Discreet roasted notes accompany supple, elegant, pretty tannins with qualitative grain and a discreet chalkiness. The tannins have a very good quality. There is a nice density with airiness and freshness, it is a complete and harmonious wine. There is density and depth all in balance. The persistent finish ends on a subtle mash with a coating and precise even incisive sensation. We end with a hint of toast/cocoa on the finish.
