N°1 Saint-Cernin 2022 – Bergerac

N°1 Saint-Cernin 2022 – Bergerac

(barrel sample) The nose is very woody and expresses toasted notes, fresh wood, smoke, grilled vanilla, ground cloves, fresh almond and toasted hazelnut. After aeration, we find notes of crunchy blackcurrant, black plum, morello cherry, juicy raspberry, wild strawberry, as well as the freshness of cut mint, rosemary, violet and peony. On the palate, the attack is supple, dense and enveloping, with sweet notes of crushed vanilla pod, cinnamon, coconut, ripe morello cherry, black plum, wild blackberry, crushed strawberry and coulis of raspberry, accompanied by a freshness of eucalyptus and peony. We also find the same pronounced woody notes as on the nose (toasted, smoked, fresh wood), enveloped and integrated thanks to a rich and dense fruity substance. The finish is long, tight, tannic and dry, due to the tannins of the wine and the wood, but juicy and tangy at the same time. The acidity is lively and salivating and the tannin structure is powerful, but fine. The wine has great potential thanks to the density and depth of its fruity substance and its tannic power.
