Mouriesse Vinum, Tour d’Ambre 2016 – Châteauneuf-du-Pape

The nose is elegant powerful and offers concentration (in elegance), a beautiful definition, purity/definition of the fruit, power as well as a certain delicacy. It reveals notes of ripe/crushed redcurrant, pulpy/juicy bigarreau cherry, small notes of wild cassis associated with small touches of violet/flowers/pink laurel, wild strawberry as well as very fine hints of black olive, liquorice/liquorice stick, sweet spices, cardamom, pepper and an imperceptible hint of roasted thyme (in the background). The palate is racy, elegant and offers richness in balance/elegance, power (in finesse) as well as a good definition, gourmandize, a very fine iodine/almost saline guideline, a beautiful finesse of the grain and a beautiful suavity. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy/crushed blackberry, crushed wild redcurrant, small notes of bigarreau cherry associated with small touches of pulpy wild cassis, small acidulous wild red fruits as well as small hints of sense of the place (pink laurel, dry local vegetation…), grey pepper as well as very discreet hints of racy minerality, camphor, liquorice stick, cocoa and black pepper. Good length. Tannins are elegant and supple.
