Montioni – Passito 2019 – Montefalco Sagrantino

Montioni – Passito 2019 – Montefalco Sagrantino

The nose is fruity, racy and offers a certain delicacy, a certain deepness, an aerial side in its power as well as a fine and powerful grain. It reveals notes of roasted blackcurrant, pepper and aromatic herbs (anise, clove, etc.) associated with touches of roasted strawberry, hints of cornflowers, peony as well as slight hints of fig, date and dried orange. The mouth is fruity, elegant, racy and offers a beautiful fat, a nice matter, gourmandize, tension as well as good energy. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of crushed/jammed blackcurrant, crushed/jammed blackberry and small notes of dried apricot associated with touches of date as well as hints of toasted hazelnut, toasted almond, a fine hint of chocolate (in the background) and a subtle hint of small dried fruits. Good length. Beautiful persistence (sapidity and a very nice acidity).
