L’Orme de Rauzan-Gassies 2021 – Margaux

L’Orme de Rauzan-Gassies 2021 – Margaux

The nose is fruity and reveals some fleshiness. There are notes of juicy/pulpy blackcurrant, blueberry and, more slightly, blue berries associated with touches of fleshy strawberry as well as fine notes of blond tobacco, toasted almond and a very discreet hint of pepper (in the background). The palate is nicely juicy and reveals gourmandize, minerality, a certain density/fleshiness, mellowness, an acidic backbone, minerality and volume. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, juicy blueberry and, more slightly, crushed raspberry combined with touches of crushed cherry, violet, fresh lily, racy minerality, very discreet hints of tonka bean, toasted almond, and a subtle touch of bourbon vanilla. The tannins are structured. A subtle varietal touch on the finish/persistence.
