Emmanuel Darnaud – Mise en bouche 2019 – Crozes-Hermitage

The nose is aromatic and offers a small intensity as well as a certain deepness. It reveals notes of bright bigarreau cherry, red plum, small notes of red berries associated with touches of flowers, raspberry flowers, small pulpy black fruits, hints of cardamom, nutmeg, saffron as well as a very discreet hint of black olive and pepper. The palate is fruity elegant and offers delicacy, a certain richness (full of control), minerality, a beautiful finesse of the grain, silkiness, freshness as well as a fine acidulous frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/bright cassis, pulpy/bright red plum as well as hints of lily, black olive, cardamom, saffron, camphor, fine hints of chocolate and caramelization. Tannins are precise, structuring and well-built. Good length. A small chew in the persistence. A beautiful wine full of delicacy, freshness, elegance and balance.
