Edmond Cornu & Fils 2021 – Côtes de Nuits-Villages

The nose is fruity, fresh with some concentration and a fine airiness. There are hints of violets, bright blueberries and, more slightly, creamy blue plums combined with hints of plump wild strawberries and hints of pepper and delicate notes of crushed, almost roasted cherries. The palate is fresh with an acidic structure. It is mineral, balanced with good definition. There is a certain gourmandise, roundness, accuracy and a nice delicacy and finesse in its fat. There is a fine airiness with notes of pulpy crushed cherries, juicy pulpy blackcurrant and more slightly tart bright red berries combined with a touch of juicy plum, violet, star anise as well as a hint of racy almost saline minerality and a subtle pepper note. There’s good work on the bitter taste in the background and good length. There’s a nice freshness and energy with a tangy backbone.
