Edmond Cornu & Fils 2021 – Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru

Edmond Cornu & Fils 2021 – Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is reserved, but deep and complex. It offers a beautiful fruity substance, delicate, but concentrated and expresses notes of wild strawberry, ripe wild raspberry, juicy bigarreau cherry, morello cherry, a touch of blackcurrant in the background, cranberry jam and red currants. The spiciness is soft, elegant and refined. The spices (ground cumin, ground cloves, white pepper, a touch of licorice) appear in the second nose and harmoniously complement the ripe fruit. There is also a powdery touch of bitter cocoa, as well as elegant notes of aromatic herbs and flowers (fresh thyme, bay leaf, dried wild flowers, wild mint, dried rose petals, violet, fresh cornflower). On the second nose, we also see fine touches of toast and heated wood. On the palate, the wine offers richness of flavors, elegance and depth. It expresses the flavors of ripe fruit (bigarreau cherry, morello cherry, strawberry, crushed raspberry, red plum in the background), associated with the sweetness of mint chocolate and cocoa, with a fine spicy side (clove, nutmeg). grated, licorice, a fine hint of vanilla in the background) and floral (dried wild flowers, violet, dried rose, peony). The tannins are enveloping, melted, with a velvety texture. The acidity is salivating and lively: with the tannic structure it gives the wine very good aging potential. The finish is persistent and savoury.
