Domaine de la Commanderie, Tradition, Elevé en barriques 2018 – Chinon

the wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. the first nose is woody and spicy: it ex- presses distinct notes of toasted oak, crushed vanilla pod, caramel (a touch of toasted coconut in the background), as well as aromas of sweet spices (liquorice, cloves, a touch
of cinnamon) and a beautiful fruity matter. We also find notes of wild strawberry, red cherry jam, morello cherry, raspberry coulis, blackcurrant and redcurrant, as well as hints
of fresh tobacco, violet, dried rose, tea and a fine touch of leather and undergrowth in the background. On the palate, the wine is enveloping, juicy and fresh. it expresses notes of fresh red cherry, fresh morello cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry coulis, crushed black- currant, as well as peppermint, liquorice, cloves, a touch of roasting (toasted oak, cara- mel, toasted vanilla), flowers (violet, dried rose) and tobacco. tannins are melted and fine,
but assertive. Beautiful acidity, liveliness and good persistence on the finish.
