Cos d’Estournel 2022 – Saint Estèphe Grand Cru Classé

Cos d’Estournel 2022 – Saint Estèphe Grand Cru Classé

A pretty elegant, precise, full, deep nose, which offers a nice multi-layered side, fullness, power and harmony, power and finesse in its grain, as well as a graphite note. It expresses notes of black cherry, cornflower and more slightly – small dense/bright black fruits, associated with touches of violet, camphor, an almost sappy/infusion hint as well as fine hints of spices, with a discreet hint of camphor and ground pepper. The palate is fruity, harmonious, velvety and offers juiciness, freshness, minerality, a nice definition, all in elegance, harmony, richness in precision, power, depth and aeriness despite the power and density. It expresses notes of pulpy/juicy raspberry, small fresh/bright red fruits and more slightly – camphor, graphite, associated with touches of small dense/juicy black fruits as well as hints of cornflower, infusion, with fine hints of morello cherry, cardamom and a delicate hint of toasted hazelnut. The tannins are supple, fresh and precise, melted. A harmonious, delicate, deep wine, which offers a nice 3D dimention. The nose is almost varietal/fresh in the background. A monolithic side to the nose, velvety, subtle in its texture, a lot of refinement.
