Château Rouget 2017 – Pomerol

Château Rouget 2017 – Pomerol

The nose is aromatic, elegant, well-built and offers power as well as complexity. It reveals notes of boysenberry, small wild fruits, small berries and more slightly violet, clay (terroir), spices associated with a hint of tobacco, lily, crushed cardamom as well as subtle touches of toasted and a very discreet hint of pepper. The palate is fresh, fruity, well-balanced, slightly tight and offers a good definition, a fine acid frame, racy minerality, a small juiciness, a beautiful tension, fat, straightness, a fine unctuosity, a beautiul gourmandize, dynamism, a good freshness as well as a beautiful finesse of the grain. On the palate this wine expresses notes of blackberry, blueberry and more slightly strawberry associated with fine/dsicreet touches of flowers, clay (terroir), tonka bean and sweet spices. Tannins are elegant. The finish is slightly powdered. Good job!
