Château Olivier 2022 – Pessac-Léognan Grand Cru Classé

A lovely fresh nose, with an intense and slightly tight grain. It offers depth, a maceration/infusion side, and a fine darkness. The nose expresses notes of boysenberry, juicy/pulpy black plum, crushed wildflower and more slightly – roasted cherry, associated with touches of small blue fruits, cornflower, rose as well as hints of tonka bean, graphite and a discreet hint of camphor, aromatic herbs and a subtle hint of pepper. The palate is fruity, and offers juiciness, a tangy frame, minerality, good definition, tension, precision, softness, pulpiness, richness and a nice maceration/infusion side. It expresses notes of crushed blackberry, crushed raspberry and more lightly – small roasted fruits, associated with touches of small blue fruits, crushed strawberry, violet, tonka bean, cardamom, as well as hints of sweet blond tobacco and vanilla. A lovely minerality and freshness. The tannins are supple and polished. Delicacy, roundness, fattiness. A hint of aromatic herbs/sage in the background, which brings pep/energy to the palate, a discreet warm sappy hint in the background. Nice freshness
