Château Haut-Bana 2017 – Médoc

The nose is fruity and offers gourmandize as well as fullness. It reveals notes of crushed blackberry, crushed strawberry and chocolate associated with small touches of raspberry, caramelization as well as subtle hint of cardamom, spices, Timut pepper and Bourbon vanilla. The palate is fruity, juicy, mineral, well-balanced, precise, clean and offers a fine juicy frame, fat, a very fine straightness as well as a very fine creaminess. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry, juicy cherry and more slightly crushed raspberry associated with small touches of fresh/ripe small red fruits, a small touche of blueberry (in the background) as well as fine touches of toasted oak, Bourbon vanilla, small hints of caramelization and a very discreet hint of Ceylan tea. Tannins are well-built. Good length. There are hints of caramelization and dark chocolate on the finish/persistence. An “easy drinking” wine.
