Château Gombaude-Guillot 2018 – Pomerol 

The nose is elegant, fruity and offers a beautiful fruit, purity, a fine concentration as well as a fine grain and precision. This wine should be decanted. It reveals notes of pulpy/fleshy raspberry, violet and small notes of blackberry associated with small touches of small pulpy fruits, fine hints of lilac, nutmeg, hazelnut as well as discreet hints of vanilla and an imperceptible hint of tea. The palate is fruity, fresh, well-balanced and offers a fine grain, a small aerial side in the approach, balance, a beautiful pulpy/bright fruit, an acidulous frame, a fine tension as well as purity. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy raspberry, bright cassis and small notes of small bright red fruits associated with touches of cornflower, rose as well as hints of small blue fruits, liquorice stick, sugared/fresh mild tobacco, discreet hints of hazelnut, almond and a subtle hint of toasted. Tannins are very fine, precise and elegant. A wine full of finesse, balance despite its richness.
