Château Cantelys 2020 – Pessac-Léognan

The wine has a lemon color of medium intensity. The nose is fragrant and offers citrus freshness, a delicate buttery and spicy side as well as integrated woody notes. It expresses aromas of fresh (yellow lemon, lemon zest, grapefruit in the background) and candied (candied lemon peel) citrus fruits, stone fruits (white peach, apricot), white flowers (acacia, lily), fresh quince, honey as well as refined notes of vanilla, toast and cumin. On the palate, the wine offers roundness and expressive flavors of citrus fruits (lemon zest, lemon), ripe stone fruits (yellow plum, white peach, apricot), flowers (acacia, wildflowers), a pronounced but refined honey and spicy notes (acacia honey, a slight touch of beeswax, vanilla and toast) with a pleasant bitterness of grapefruit. Crispy, salivating acidity refreshes the round, buttery texture and gives the wine a nice structure. The finish is persistent and tangy, on sweet spices and bitter notes of grapefruit. A refined, balanced wine with good aging potential.
