Château Brehat 2022 – Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux

The nose offers warm notes of black fruits in jam (cherry jam), fresh black fruits (blackberry, morello cherry, black plum, blackcurrant), as well as juicy red fruits (wild strawberry, red cherry), accompanied by notes spicy with black pepper, licorice, cloves and herbaceous and floral freshness (aromas of dried mint, cut rosemary, violet and fresh cornflower). On the palate, we find the firmness of a fairly powerful tannic structure, but with a velvety texture, concentration of fruity matter and fluidity (in a good sense) at the same time. The wine expresses notes of wild blackberry, blueberry (fresh and jam), wild strawberry, crushed strawberry, raspberry coulis, blackcurrant, morello cherry and red cherry, accompanied by notes of sweet spices (roasted vanilla, cinnamon, licorice, white pepper), bitter chocolate, toasted, herbs (peppermint) and dried flowers (peony, cornflower). The finish is persistent, generous, round and ample. The acidity is soft, but refreshing. A robust but refined wine, with good development potential and a promising organoleptic profile, which could evolve well over time.
