Chapelle d’Ausone 2022 – Saint-Emilion

Chapelle d’Ausone 2022 – Saint-Emilion

(60% Cabernet Franc, 35% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon) Nice rich nose, balanced, elegant which offers a certain power, depth as well as a little varietal freshness. It reveals notes of small fleshy/dense black fruits, crushed strawberry and small notes of small crushed blue fruits associated with fine touches of fresh cocoa, crushed blue plum as well as a discreet hint of vanilla. The palate is nicely fresh, mineral, elegant and offers a certain richness/maturity of the fruit (in freshness), a discreet roasted hint (in the background) as well as a nice fullness and harmony in freshness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy blackberry, crushed raspberry and more lightly fresh/bright blue plum associated with touches of nutmeg, toasted, star anise and vanilla. Tasty and a fine iodized side in the background. Nice little soft tannins. A beautiful freshness that carries over.
