Camille Giroud, Mercurey 2019

Camille Giroud, Mercurey 2019

The wine has a pale lemon-yellow color. The nose is fragrant, pure, complex and precise. The wine expresses a lot of freshness, fruit and a fine spiciness. We find notes of fresh lemon, lime jam, a delicate bitterness of grapefruit, a tangy side of crunchy green apple, as well as the sweetness of fresh apricot, fresh pineapple and white peach. The fruits on the nose are associated with floral notes (dried lime blossom, acacia, a fine touch of chamomile), slightly spicy (vanilla, nutmeg), toasted (toasted hazelnut, brioche) and milky (fresh butter) with a hint of honey, mineral and chalky in the background. On the palate, the wine offers freshness, finesse and a lively tanginess. The attack is chiseled, straight and expresses energy and salivating acidity. We find citrus notes (lemon, lime, lemon zest, grapefruit), a herbaceous touch (cut grass and mint in the background) and mineral, associated with notes of tangy apricot, crunchy white nectarine, a fine hint of vanilla, brioche, lime blossom and lime blossom honey. The finish is long, tangy and refreshing. A lively and dynamic wine.
