Camille Giroud 2014 – Charmes-Chambertin

Camille Giroud 2014 – Charmes-Chambertin

The nose is elegant, and flowery and offers aromatic power, a nice finesse of grain, velvety, a certain deepness as well as power in finesse. It reveals notes of fresh purple plum and more slightly – notes of fresh cherry, and violet associated with touches of wild red fruits as well as a slight hint of liquorice, lilac, and a subtle varietal hint. The mouth is fresh, mineral, juicy, and nicely acidulous and offers gourmandize, some fatness, and a nice finesse in its substance/unctuosity. It is a bit aerial in its power. Nicely racy and clayey. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy/pulpy blue plum, fleshy/juicy blackberry, and slight notes of crushed raspberry associated with touches of small red fruit as well as hints of toast and toasted hazelnut. The tannins are fine and supple.
