Baron de Brane 2020 – Margaux

Baron de Brane 2020 – Margaux

The wine has a deep ruby color. The nose offers complexity, ripe fruit, concentration, and at the same time – freshness and finesse. It expresses notes of fresh blackcurrant, morello cherry, wild strawberry, crushed raspberry, wild plum, red cherry, wild blackberry, as well as refreshing and refined touches of pine needles, eucalyptus, a wrapped spicy side (licorice, cumin, cloves, a touch of vanilla), as well as a hint of caramelized hazelnut, toasted wood, sweet tobacco, peony and violet. On the palate, there is controlled and elegant power, finesse, and harmony. The wine opens on the palate with juicy and ripe fruitiness and a melted and velvety texture of tannins. We find the flavors of fresh morello cherry, wild blackberry, fresh blackcurrant (with a hint of crème de cassis), wild plum, red cherry jam, wild strawberry and raspberry coulis, combined with notes of licorice, ground cumin, cloves, vanilla (in the background), menthol, dried mint, as well as toasted hazelnut, fresh tobacco, cornflower and violet. A silky, supple, open wine, but complex and structured. All in finesse and harmony. The finish is gourmand and persistent.
