The historic centre of Tollo (Chieti) will host the event dedicated to local excellence. Journalist Adua Villa will lead a wine show dedicated to the denomination’s wines like Montepulciano, Passerina and Pecorino.
One of Italy’s smallest denominations is making a comeback by organising a series of activities starting on 19 July. The event starts with the conference scheduled in Piazza Caduti di Nassirya Evolution of the wine markets and climate change, where speakers will include Angelo Radica, Mayor of Tollo and President of the Wine Cities Association, Alessandro Nicodemi, President of the Consorzio Tutela Vini d’Abruzzo, Gianni Pasquale, President of Assoenologi Abruzzo-Molise, agronomist Maurizio Odoardi and Ombretta Mercurio, Vice-President of the Order of Agronomists.
Then, the tasting counters will start, where participants will be able to taste the various labels of the wineries operating within the Municipality of Tollo: Cantina Tollo, Feudo Antico, Vigneti Radica and Società Cooperativa Agricola Coltivatori Diretti Tollo – and the Tullum Docg wines.
“The idea of the Tollo Wine Festival stems from the desire to celebrate our wine heritage and to promote the excellence of our territory,” says Pantaleone Verna, President of the Consorzio Tullum Docg. “With this event we wish to publicise our denomination, a magical place suspended between the Adriatic Sea and the Majella where unique wines have been produced for centuries, as demonstrated by the remains of the rustic villa and the dolia from the Roman era found in the locality of San Pietro”.
The evening will be further enriched by the performance of The Palmina’s group, which will play the best of 1950s and 1960s music, and Gianluca Galeazzo’s DJ set, creating an engaging and festive atmosphere that combines wine, food and music in a unique experience.
The cost of admission to the event is 15 euros and includes the carnet with three tastings and the kit with bag and goblet.
